Siklis Trekking in the Annapurna region is one of the popular and moderately easy treks located at the northeast of Pokhara at an altitude of 2000 meters. Trekking to this Siklis region is one of the untouched beautiful natural environment with beautiful villages and traditional cultures of Nepal. Hardly few visitors had visited this place although it is quite popular nowadays.
In 1980, Prince Charles of England visited this 2nd largest Gurung (Gurkhas) community to develop this place into an ideal eco - trekking route. So this place – Siklis is also known as the Royal Trekwhich is snuggled down below the lofty mountain Annapurna II (7937 m) and Annapurna IV (7525 m).
Siklis trekking offers you the most magnificent views of Mount Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Hiunchuli (6336 m), Machapuchre (Fishtail – 6999 m), Lamjung Himal (6986 m), Annapurna II (7939 m) andAnnapurna IV (7525 m) and many other peaks in one complete package. Abundant flora – thick rhododendron forests, orchid’s, pine, juniper, oak, etc. and fauna with different species of birds chirruping can be detected throughout your trail. You will be observing the local handicrafts made by the local people residing here. You will also be viewing two best lakes - Rupa Tal (lake) - one of the 3rd biggest lake in Nepal and the Begnas Tal (lake) - one of the 2nd largest lake after Phewa Tal(lake).
Trekking to Siklis starts from a scenic flight Pokhara or by a tourist vehicle on land which takes a maximum of 6 hours to reach. On the next day onwards we start trekking every day to finally reach fine conserved Siklis (1980 m) through the Gurung (Gurkha) villages.
On our trail, we can spot the entire views of the mountains mentioned above & we will pass through the pristine meadows with dense rhododendron. After exploring all the features in Siklis, we thenconsequently reach Pokhara. From Pokhara, we will return back to Kathmandu by flight or either by private tourist bus.
This trekking can be done in the months of February-June and September-November. The other remaining months are also good for trekking but due to the heavy rains - we might not be able to view the stunning scenery.
