Are you a luxury traveler and yet want to experience some adventure thrill in the Himalayan region? Everest Region Luxury Trek is the ideal trip that will let you experience adventure and luxury at the same time.

This 9-day luxury adventure is an incredible mixture of a bit of trekking and a helicopter exploration of the mountain madness in the Everest region. Although an adventure trip to the mountain, use of a chartered helicopter to explore the mountains will make the trip comfortable. In addition to Kalapatthar exploration and a view of Everest Base Camp, you will also explore the magical Gokyo Valley. This adventure is not only a helicopter exploration but also involves a few days of trekking in the lower region of the Everest. Trekking up to Namche Bazar before taking a Helicopter ride to explore the mountains is an awesome experience. This short trekking adventure will also help you acclimatize to go suddenly to a higher elevation in a helicopter.

Although an adventure in the mountains sounds quite opposite of the luxury, the trip will keep you completely and comfort even in the mountains. In addition to using a helicopter to explore the mountains, this trip uses luxury lodges in all overnight places. Luxury lodge accommodation in the mountains makes your stay comfortable. Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu

The trip starts with your arrival in Kathmandu. We will be at the airport to extend you a warm welcome to our beautiful country. Later, we will transfer you to the hotel. As it is the first day of the trip and your arrival day, we have planned a free time for you so that you can relax and adapt to the atmosphere here.

Stay in the comfort of Hyatt Regency Kathmandu.

Day 2
Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour 

It is a day full of activities in Kathmandu. We will meet at the hotel in the morning and talk about our Luxury adventure in details. After the trip discussion is over, we will take you for a heritage sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley. The day will bring you across beautiful ancient and medieval temples, palaces and other beautiful monuments. You will also explore some local areas to know a little about the lifestyle of people living in Kathmandu valley.

This is a guided sightseeing tour with a professional tour guide and a private vehicle to go at your comfort.

Day 3
Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

We are now ready to explore the mountains starting today. We have an early morning helicopter flight to Lukla today. The flight will take us to the beautiful Everest region where the beautiful and massive mountains will welcome us. The impressive Everest region exploration starts today, with a trek to Phakding. This trekking day is an easy breezy one compared to what it is in the higher elevation of the mountain wilderness. Although the trail meanders a little up and down the hill, it will mostly follow a river valley to Phakding to stay overnight.

We will stay in the luxury of Yeti Mountain Home in Phakding.

Day 4
Day Trek to Namche Bazar

This second day of trekking in the Everest region takes us to Namche Bazar. We will enter the Sagarmatha national park area as we trek further from Monjo. We will traverse the trail through wonderful natural surroundings. The walk today will take us mostly uphill but the beautiful surroundings of the trail make the walk wonderful.  The day eventually comes to an end at Namche Bazar, the Sherpa town.

We will stay in the comfort of Yeti Mountain Home in Namche.   

Day 5
Acclimatization Day

We take an extra day here at Namche to acclimatize. As it is an acclimatization day, we will go for a hiking excursion to another Sherpa village of Khumjung. This beautiful day of the hike will take us past wonderful surroundings and to the village of Khumjung where we can also explore a monastery. It is an amazing Sherpa village where we will immerse in the cultural exploration. Later, we return back to Namche Bazar to stay overnight.

Day 6
Helicopter Exploration of Kalapatthar and Gokyo Valley (Overnight at Kongde)  

We are now ready for the helicopter exploration of the Everest region. We will fly higher and land at Kalapatthar, the highest point of the trip, to explore the magnificence of Mt. Everest and other mountains in the range. We will also fly over the Everest Base Camp before heading towards Gokyo Valley to enjoy the beauty of glacial lakes and impressive glacier and mountains. A short period of time at the Gokyo valley will allow us to enjoy the magnificence of the region.

After exploring and enjoying the mountain madness of the Everest region, we will fly to Kongde to stay overnight.

We will stay in the luxury of Yeti Mountain Home. 

Day 7
Trek to Phakding

After enjoy an impressive day exploring the wilderness of Everest region and Gokyo Valley, we will trek back to Phakding to stay overnight. This is the last day of the trip on the mountains. We will fly back to Kathmandu tomorrow.

We will stay in the luxury of Yeti Mountain Home.

Day 8
Fly Back to Kathmandu by a Helicopter

We have an early morning helicopter flight back to Kathmandu. It is time to say goodbye to the impressive mountains and go back to the city. Once we reach in Kathmandu, we enjoy our time at leisure.

Stay in the comfort of Hyatt Regency Kathmandu.

Day 9
Departure Day

This is the final day of the trip. We will come to the hotel to transfer you to the airport for your departure flight homebound or another destination.

FAQ's and Notes

When to book this Trip ?

The flawless seasons for touring/trekking is in spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November). One can travel in winter if you are well adapted to cold. We strongly recommend you not to trek on monsoon in June, July, and August because of heavy rains & extremely blazing heat in the afternoon.

How kind of food is served during the trek ?

We serve food rich in proteins, carbohydrates and highly nutritious hygienic nourishing food - vital while trekking.

During the trek - all the meals i.e. breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided inclusive in our package. The trek leader will be taking you to the clean hotels/restaurants for lunch on the way to your destination. In cities, either breakfast or dinner is included.

Vegan foods are also availabale.

How safe is stream water ?

Stream water is completely safe but we suggest you to carry water purification pills (chlorine tablets) or water filters to purify the water. If you prefer to drink packaged bottled mineral water, you will easily get in shops or tea houses on your own expense.

How about my luggage ?

Our porters will carry your major luggage while you carry a backpack with items very handy while trekking such as water bottle, towel, tissue or toilet paper, camera or any other stuff which you feel is necessary.

Gears and clothes not necessary can be left in the hotel safe deposit box properly locked without any extra charge. Domestic airlines of Nepal does not allow more than 15 kilograms including your hand baggage. If your baggage exceeds more than 15 kg, an extra charge can cover that up.

The porter will be carrying up to 12 kg luggage of each trekker.

What is the group Size or crew members ?

We Ganesh Himal Hiking team arrange most of the treks with a minimum of 2 clients to a maximum of 8 in a group. The larger group we will be divided accordingly.

What about guides ?

We provide honest, well experienced first aid certified, altitude sickness trained trekking guides who will be handling all your issues on the trip. All our staffs are very cordial and sincere. While trekking in a bigger group i.e. more than 6 people - an additional guide will be accompanied and the group also can be split according to the number of people in the group.

Is there any personal expenses on the Trek ?

Well, not that much but depends upon how you manage your expenses. Our package includes the cost of accommodation and meals during your trek as mentioned in the itinerary. Besides that, you are liable to pay for additional meals, table drinks, snacks, hot showers (accessible in some places), alcoholic drinks, meals (around US $ 5-7), extra accommodation in Kathmandu, tips for driver, guide and porters, etc.

Tips to the guides, porter or any other members is not mandatory but feel free to tip them if you are satisfied with their service.

How about trekking gears or other equipment ?

Trekking gears are readily available in the stores of major cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara at a very reasonable price. Down jacket & sleeping bags can also be hired with a minimal charge per day. Thus, you don’t have to buy it from your hometown.

But if already have it and have no issues bringing it, please feel free to bring it.

What would a usual day on a trek be like ?

Each and every day gives pleasant suprises and rewarding experience. Each day differs according to the itinerary or schedule, or the place you are trekking.

Normally, you are required to trek for 4-6 hours each day. We start our trek after breakfast and stop for the lunch. We trek for 3-4 hours after lunch to reach our destination. If we reach our destination in afternoon, you can spend rest of the hours relaxing, take shower or just wander around.

How about Airport Pickup and Drop Off ?

After booking, a representative of Ganesh Himal Hiking Team will pick you up from the airport on your scheduled landing time. You can spot GHHT member outside the exit terminal. If you have booked the hotel by yourself, please let us know in advance, so that we can drop you at your respective hotel.

We also pick and drop you from domestic airport. On your departure day, we will also see you off.

Can I customize the Itinerary ?

Our itinerary has been carefully designed by our operation manager which is very pragmatic & includes the high altitude acclimatizing. These days includes your arrival day, departure and sightseeing Kathmandu. It also has an extra day which allows flexibility to adjust the delay or cancellation of flight due to sudden changes in the Himalayan weather.

If you would like to extend more days or lessen some, we surely can do that as per your wish.

How do you deal with emergency situations ?

Our tour guide and trek leader will make sure that each and every one of you is well taken care of in emergency situations. If by chance anyone gets sick during the trek, we will take you to the nearest hospital as soon as possible. For serious conditions – we will use the rescue helicopter expenses being carried out by the insurance company. We suggest you get insured for up to 6000 meters.

Please go thoroughly what’s covered and not in the insurance policy.

Booking and Payment:

After confirming or booking the trip – all we need is the copy of the passport, insurance policy, and the international flight details (ticket). Then, a 20% advance deposit is required for any trip, trek or expedition which is not refundable - used for reservations of hotels and lodges according to the itinerary. The remaining balance is due when you arrive at Kathmandu and can be paid by any means convenient to you. We prefer payment via cash (to avoid any extra service charge) but bank transfer, credit cards, western union, and pay pal are also the accepted form of payments.

What if flight is delayed from ?

Only domestic mountain flight is only available from Kathmandu to Lukla and sometimes the flight might be delayed or canceled due to unforeseen adverse Himalaya weather condition.

This is the reason we have kept an extra day in the itinerary to cover up such situations. In case the flight is canceled for 2 or more days, we will charter a helicopter to make sure that you reach on the scheduled flight to your destination. The expense for this service will be carried out by the insurance company. The helicopter charter cost is in between the US $ 500 to $ 3500 depending upon the number of people in the flight.
