Mt. Kanchenjunga which stands above the elevation of 8,585m is one of the third highest mountains in the world. It is located in eastern border of Nepal and Sikkim opened in 1988 for foreign travelers. It was first climbed on 25 may 1955 by joe Brown and George band who were part of British expedition. Since the local worship the mountain there is a tradition among mountaineer not to stand on the actual summit.
