Trip Grade:

You are likely to walk for 6-7 hours each day over steep hilly terrain on usually rough trails but no real extremes of weather. Moderate trails entail reaching up to 5500 m with daily ascends of around 400-700 m. You will also be facing high altitude air with a low level of oxygen on some days and are therefore required to have a positive attitude and be physically fit. Previous hiking or camping experience is preferable.

Our Trek journey starts with a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu giving the best aerial view of the Himalayas. Upon reaching to Lukla, we can enjoy the beautiful long-standing mountains ready to captivate with its beauty.  We start walking through banks of Dudh Koshi River passing through lush green pine and rhododendron forest consequently leading to take a descend down to Phakding to finally reach a meticulously designed beautiful suburb of Namche Bazaar enjoying the yearning climb to Namche accompanied by the beautiful landscape, river, monasteries and the people.

Taking a day off to acclimatize & explore Namche Bazaar to get acquainted with Sherpa culture, community & their rich history, tradition, Sir Edmond Hillary Trust, and monasteries. A day rest helps to get energized for a big hike to the most interesting part of the trek to Khumbu region which involves climbing through steep slopes, following the icy cold path passing through numerous village, meadows, and monasteries finally leading to the last stop of the journey to Khumbu region.

Ascent to Khumbu region is a bit tiring although going up brings better and beautiful views of Mount Ama DablamMount LhotseKhumbuKhantegaTawoche, and Thamserku to offset exhaustion. Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at the airport, one of our representative from GHHT – Ganesh Himal Hiking Team will be there waiting for you at the terminal gate. After meetings and greetings, they will drive you to your respective. You can take rest and freshen up to overcome the Jet lag or if you want then can also visit the GHHT office. Later in the evening, GHHT will be hosting a welcome dinner in a fine Nepali restaurant (with concise cultural dance program) which serves you mouth-watering Nepali cuisine. We will spend our night at Kathmandu hotel rating at 2or 3 star hotels.

Day 2
Sightseeing Kathmandu and Trek Preparation

On the second day after breakfast, we will start our trip exploring some of the historical heritage sites of Kathmandu enlisted in the UNESCO world heritage site. We will first begin with pre-historic Kathmandu Durbar square - a palace in which Malla kings used to rule over this country centuries ago. Surrounding the square, there are some ancient temples built in a Pagoda style. Next, we will visit the sacred Hindu temple of Kathmandu i.e. the Pashupatinath temple. After that, we will head to visit Swayambhunath temple - simply known as monkey temple & also a holy site both for Buddhists and Hindus. Finally, we will visit the largest stupa in the world - the Boudhanath stupa. Later we will visit GHHT office and our expert leader will check the equipment and also will introduce you to other participants joining you. Then we will discuss the trip and have you have any inquiry related to this trek, you are free to discuss with your trek leader. We will spend our night at Kathmandu.

Day 3
Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding, 3-4 Hrs of Trek

Today we will take an approx. 40 min scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. During the flight, one gets amazing views of the landscape and snow-capped peaks including the highest mountain Everest. Reaching Lukla - we will meet other crew members and from here - we will begin our trek with a gradual descent. Within a while after trekking, we will reach Cheplung village and from here - we start getting views of Mount Khumbila - one of the scared peak which has never been summited by any climbers. Continuing trekking from Cheplung - we will gradually descend down unless we reach Phakding where we will spend our night.


Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 4
Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3438 m & 11280 feet): 5-6 Hrs

Today we will begin our trek by trekking on the trails via lovely pine forests following the path north up to the gorge of Benkar valley. After that, we will be crossing the Dudh Koshi river through a suspension bridge and pass Chumoa towards Monjo - the entrance to Everest National Park. We once again cross the suspension bridge and pass the village of Jorsale and then from here, we will continue our trek alongside the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi river. After a steep climb - we will reach Namche Bazaar - the heartland of Sherpa village. If the weather is clear - we will get an astonishing view of Everest and Lhotse. We will spend our night at Namche Bazaar. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Accommodation: Tea house or Trekking lodge.

Day 5
Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar (3440 m & 11284 feet)

Today we will spend our day acclimatizing the altitude as the health experts’ advice that instead of staying idle, one must hike for few hours for proper acclimatization. So today - we will explore Namche Bazaar - the key center of Khumbu region. In this region, there are lots of cafés, cyber cafe, & restaurants. We can even hike to Sagarmatha National park which offers the dazzling view of sunrise including several peaks like Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Kongde and many more. If you willing to then we will even hike to Khumjung village - a lovely and cordial village inhabited by Sherpa tribes. Here you get to explore the culture and traditions of Sherpa people plus visit the Khumjung Hillary School. We will spend our night at Namche Bazaar. (If we don't visit Khumjung on this day, we make it for the following day.) Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Accommodation: Tea house or Trekking lodge.

Day 6
Namche Bazaar to Khumjung (3810 m & 12500 feet): 4 Hrs.

Today we will start our day with gradual ascend to Syangboche and just above that, there is Everest view hotel from where we can relish close views of Mount Everest. After that, we will continue our trek towards Khumjung village which is surrounded by the amazing views of Thamserku, Kongde, and Khumbila peak. We will visit the Khumjung monastery where Yeti scalp is kept and also visit Edmund Hillary School. We will spend our night at Khumjung. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Accommodation: Tea house or Trekking lodge.

Day 7
Khumjung to Tengboche (3870 m & 12694 feet): 4-5 Hrs

Today we will descend down towards Dudh Koshi River and then we will be passing via striking village. We will then trekking on the forested path which leads us to a river bed. For two hours we will again ascend via fir and pine forests and then we will reach tiny village Tengboche. In this village, you will be visiting the largest monastery of Khumbu region named Tengboche monastery positioned at 3867 meters. We will explore the monastery and from here one get the picturesque view of Himalayas as well as Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Tawache, Lhotse, Thamserku and the highest mountain Everest. We will spend our night at Tengboche. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Accommodation: Tea house or Trekking lodge.

Day 8
Tengboche toward Kyangjuma (3570 m &11710 feet): 4-5 Hrs.

Today we will start our trek from Tengboche with steep descend around 1500 feet and 500 meter which leads us via dense rhododendron and fir trees towards Dudh Koshi River. Continuing our trek we will then passing a Tashinga and Sansa village and then we will reach Kyanjuma. From here we will enjoy the stunning view of Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse and the mighty highest mountain Everest. We will spend our night at Kyangjuma. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Accommodation: Tea house or Trekking lodge.

Day 9
Kyangjuma toward Monjo (2840 m & 9315 feet): 4-5 Hrs.

Today we will retrace back to Namche Bazaar so, firstly we will continue our trek towards Monjo where we will heading on steep wooded slope through windy trails. On the way to the forested trail, we might get to spot several animals like snow leopards, mountain goats, Pheasants and many more. After that, we will descend down that leads us to Dudh Koshi River and then we will cross the river through suspension bridge. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Accommodation: Tea house or Trekking lodge.

Day 10
Monjo to Lukla: 5-6 Hrs.

Today we will descend gradually and head towards Chauri Kharka and on the way, we will be passing Chopling and Phakding villages. We will then ascend for the last time from Chauri Kharka. Reaching Lukla we will celebrate for successfully completing our trek. We will spend our night at Lukla. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Accommodation: Tea house or Trekking lodge.

Day 11
Fly to Kathmandu

Today early morning we take a scenic airstrip to Kathmandu. Reaching Kathmandu airport - our representative will be taking you to the hotel where you can rest or you can also stroll at Thamel area which is the hub center for tourists. In Thamel area, there are plenty of souvenir shops and antique shops where you can do shopping for your loved ones and for the bargaining our tour guide will be helping you. If you want we will also visit some of the heritage sites nearby. In evening the GHHT- Ganesh Himal Hiking Team will be hosting a farewell dinner as well as also celebrate for successfully completing the trek. We will spend our night in Kathmandu. Meals: Breakfast & Fare-well Dinner. Accommodation: Tea house or Trekking lodge.

Day 12
Final Departure

Today your Everest Panorama trek comes to an end and we hope that you are satisfied with our services. One of our representatives from the Ganesh Himal Hiking Team will be dropping you at the airport three hours earlier than your flight schedule so, you get plenty of time for your custom formalities of the airport and reach safely to your destination. Meals: Breakfast. Airport Drop off in a Private car.

FAQ's and Notes

When to book this Trip ?

The flawless seasons for touring/trekking is in spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November). One can travel in winter if you are well adapted to cold. We strongly recommend you not to trek on monsoon in June, July, and August because of heavy rains & extremely blazing heat in the afternoon.

How kind of food is served during the trek ?

We serve food rich in proteins, carbohydrates and highly nutritious hygienic nourishing food - vital while trekking.

During the trek - all the meals i.e. breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided inclusive in our package. The trek leader will be taking you to the clean hotels/restaurants for lunch on the way to your destination. In cities, either breakfast or dinner is included.

Vegan foods are also availabale.

How safe is stream water ?

Stream water is completely safe but we suggest you to carry water purification pills (chlorine tablets) or water filters to purify the water. If you prefer to drink packaged bottled mineral water, you will easily get in shops or tea houses on your own expense.

How about my luggage ?

Our porters will carry your major luggage while you carry a backpack with items very handy while trekking such as water bottle, towel, tissue or toilet paper, camera or any other stuff which you feel is necessary.

Gears and clothes not necessary can be left in the hotel safe deposit box properly locked without any extra charge. Domestic airlines of Nepal does not allow more than 15 kilograms including your hand baggage. If your baggage exceeds more than 15 kg, an extra charge can cover that up.

The porter will be carrying up to 12 kg luggage of each trekker.

What is the group Size or crew members ?

We Ganesh Himal Hiking team arrange most of the treks with a minimum of 2 clients to a maximum of 8 in a group. The larger group we will be divided accordingly.

What about guides ?

We provide honest, well experienced first aid certified, altitude sickness trained trekking guides who will be handling all your issues on the trip. All our staffs are very cordial and sincere. While trekking in a bigger group i.e. more than 6 people - an additional guide will be accompanied and the group also can be split according to the number of people in the group.

Is there any personal expenses on the Trek ?

Well, not that much but depends upon how you manage your expenses. Our package includes the cost of accommodation and meals during your trek as mentioned in the itinerary. Besides that, you are liable to pay for additional meals, table drinks, snacks, hot showers (accessible in some places), alcoholic drinks, meals (around US $ 5-7), extra accommodation in Kathmandu, tips for driver, guide and porters, etc.

Tips to the guides, porter or any other members is not mandatory but feel free to tip them if you are satisfied with their service.

How about trekking gears or other equipment ?

Trekking gears are readily available in the stores of major cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara at a very reasonable price. Down jacket & sleeping bags can also be hired with a minimal charge per day. Thus, you don’t have to buy it from your hometown.

But if already have it and have no issues bringing it, please feel free to bring it.

What would a usual day on a trek be like ?

Each and every day gives pleasant suprises and rewarding experience. Each day differs according to the itinerary or schedule, or the place you are trekking.

Normally, you are required to trek for 4-6 hours each day. We start our trek after breakfast and stop for the lunch. We trek for 3-4 hours after lunch to reach our destination. If we reach our destination in afternoon, you can spend rest of the hours relaxing, take shower or just wander around.

How about Airport Pickup and Drop Off ?

After booking, a representative of Ganesh Himal Hiking Team will pick you up from the airport on your scheduled landing time. You can spot GHHT member outside the exit terminal. If you have booked the hotel by yourself, please let us know in advance, so that we can drop you at your respective hotel.

We also pick and drop you from domestic airport. On your departure day, we will also see you off.

Can I customize the Itinerary ?

Our itinerary has been carefully designed by our operation manager which is very pragmatic & includes the high altitude acclimatizing. These days includes your arrival day, departure and sightseeing Kathmandu. It also has an extra day which allows flexibility to adjust the delay or cancellation of flight due to sudden changes in the Himalayan weather.

If you would like to extend more days or lessen some, we surely can do that as per your wish.

How do you deal with emergency situations ?

Our tour guide and trek leader will make sure that each and every one of you is well taken care of in emergency situations. If by chance anyone gets sick during the trek, we will take you to the nearest hospital as soon as possible. For serious conditions – we will use the rescue helicopter expenses being carried out by the insurance company. We suggest you get insured for up to 6000 meters.

Please go thoroughly what’s covered and not in the insurance policy.

Booking and Payment:

After confirming or booking the trip – all we need is the copy of the passport, insurance policy, and the international flight details (ticket). Then, a 20% advance deposit is required for any trip, trek or expedition which is not refundable - used for reservations of hotels and lodges according to the itinerary. The remaining balance is due when you arrive at Kathmandu and can be paid by any means convenient to you. We prefer payment via cash (to avoid any extra service charge) but bank transfer, credit cards, western union, and pay pal are also the accepted form of payments.

What if flight is delayed from ?

Only domestic mountain flight is only available from Kathmandu to Lukla and sometimes the flight might be delayed or canceled due to unforeseen adverse Himalaya weather condition.

This is the reason we have kept an extra day in the itinerary to cover up such situations. In case the flight is canceled for 2 or more days, we will charter a helicopter to make sure that you reach on the scheduled flight to your destination. The expense for this service will be carried out by the insurance company. The helicopter charter cost is in between the US $ 500 to $ 3500 depending upon the number of people in the flight.


Hotel & Lodges

Accommodation in Himalayan Countries While Tour/Trek

Ganesh Himal Hiking Team (GHHT) arranges it�s best for comfortable and pleasant accommodation and also provides you nourished hygienic food. We will be staying at the standard hotel (rating of 2 � 3 Star) in Kathmandu whereas, in the remote areas, we will be staying at a tea house or a local lodge. We can also arrange luxurious rooms from 4 � 5 Star hotels in the cities with an additional charge but the remote mountainous regions have no such facilities. Tea houses and local lodges in the remote region will have a usual bed with usual mattress and a pillow. Only a few of them have electricity but the rest rely on lanterns or candles lights. Booking of the room is done prior to the starting of the trek. If in case we are not able to book the room in advance, we can book it upon reaching there as these areas have ample of lodges and tea houses. If for some reason, we aren�t able to book a lodge/teahouse - we can easily set a camp which will be the most adventurous part of the trek itself.
