Bhutan Thangbi festival is one of the grandest festivals celebrated in each and every year. This trip is for those explorers who are passionate in experiencing the culture and religious of Bhutan. This unique festival are held in tagbi village one of the rural area. The main highlight of this festival is the (Mewang) a fire blessing. Main criteria to celebrate this festival are to bring the good fortune, happiness, better harvest in the village. This festival are held till 4 days and are organized by the people of three villages Bumthang valley-thangbi, Goling and Kharsath where the performer wears a demon or animal mask and perform their mystical dance .
First the festival is performed by the folk dancers and then there will be a fire flame and the people tend to believe that jumping over the flame to get them purified their sins and pains. It is the believed that people who endeavor to jump across the flame three times will be blessed for the entire year. And after that there will be mask dance performance by the monks and the local people. During the festival dukpa people come in their traditional costume here you get abundant time to build rapport with the local villagers, where you get to share your tradition of West with the Bhutanese mystical life of mythologies, legend, superstition and myth. You also get to sightseen the ancient culture of this tiny kingdom and observe their arts, crafts etc.
This journey begins from a flight to paro at there we will be visiting paro valley and the Ta Dzong Museum and Rinpung Dzong. From there we will be drive to Thimpu at there we will be visiting numerous monasteries, chortens and attend the festivals of Thimpu called Thangbi festival and we will be heading to Punakha and visit the Chimi Lhakang, Gantey monastery and reaching bumthang you get to visit the Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, Tamshing monastery. After that we will drive to Wangdi which will take exactly 5 hours to reach and at Thimpu we will be taking our break and relax and spend our ease time by doing shopping and taking the lovely pic of the Bhutanese people and several monasteries. Next morning we will drive to Paro where you get to visit the oldest Buddhists monastery Drugyel Dzong and Kichu Lhakhang lastly our tour will finally come to an end and from paro take a flight and we will be back to Kathmandu.
